Andy Fried Named 2012 Georgia SBDC Consultant of the Year
April 20, 2013 - Mr. Andy Fried, a business consultant with the Georgia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Kennesaw State University, was named the 2012 Georgia SBDC Consultant of the Year by The University of Georgia SBDC State Director, Allan Adams. Announcing the award last week at the annual training event for SBDC professionals across Georgia, Adams named Fried as the top SBDC professional for 2012. Adams acknowledged Andy’s contributions inside and outside the organization and the positive impact he has had for the Georgia SBDC brand and the small businesses he serves in Georgia.
Mr. Fried joined the Georgia SBDC at Kennesaw State University in 2007 as a Business Consultant. In addition to this year’s Top Consultant Award, Mr. Fried has been twice named a Flewellen Award winner. The Flewellen Award recognizes top performing consultants in key metrics of consulting and teaching effectiveness.
Fried has over twenty-five years experience in the financial, retail and real estate sectors. He began his career as a CPA with Laventhol and Horwath in New York. In 1984, Mr. Fried became owner and president of a retail business with locations throughout the New York tri-state area. Andy sold his retail interests and moved to Atlanta where he became an owner, manager and agent of commercial real estate properties.
